With their debut Incompletement (October 31), they’re packaging a power into an album fans have been waiting for since SKORTS first took NYC stages by storm.
Incompletement is pure passion pressed into permanence—stadium-ready rock with a DIY edge, recorded live across three Brooklyn practice spaces with producer Teddy O’Mara. More than a greatest-hits collection of live staples, it also unveils two never-performed songs that reveal the band’s more tender side.
SKORTS is a product of chemistry and serendipity. Singer/guitarist Alli Walls moved from Denver to NYC in 2021, linking with guitarist Char Smith at a guitar shop; soon after, bassist Emma Welch joined outside a bar, and the foundation was set. Drummer Max Berdik later completed the lineup.
Since then, SKORTS has become a force: winning Our Wicked Lady’s Winter Madness, earning Oh My Rockness’s “Hardest Working Band” title in 2024, recording a WFUV session, and packing bigger rooms with fans eager to say they knew them when. This fall, they take their high-voltage live show across the Atlantic for a November–December EU tour.
“Incompletement is a word we made up,” SKORTS shares. “To us, it means living and creating in an ever-changing state of impermanence.” Visit skortsband.com to connect—and maybe feel a little more complete.
