Since their formation in 2006, Skrat has been a formidable force in the indie rock scene, known for their explosive energy, and relentless musical evolution. Originating from Chennai, India, this trio - composed of the dynamic Sriram TT on vocals, the rhythmic powerhouse Tapass Naresh on drums, and the ever-grooving Jhanu Chanthar on bass - has carved a niche with their raw, authentic sound.
Skrat's journey began with the release of their debut album, "Design," in 2010, a project that laid the foundation for their sonic exploration and creative storytelling. Their subsequent albums have each added a new dimension to their musical narrative. "Big Guns" in 2013 showcased a vibrant blend of indie and garage rock elements, demonstrating the band's versatile artistry knack for catchy, yet gritty melodies.
"The Queen" followed in 2014; Skrat honed their style to deliver an expansive sound fit for live performances - bold, expansive and resonant. "Bison;' released in 2017, represented a bold shift in their trajectory, embracing a darker, more intense sound that captivates listeners with its depth and emotional honesty.
Circus Act, being the start of many to come, starts their journey into theatrical exploration of the band’s
character arcs, storylines and the skrat universe, with dialogue-heavy delivery mated with progressive drama in their sound.
