Skyview is an indie space-rock band from North Florida blending the synth-driven nostalgia of Tears For Fears and Depeche Mode with the cinematic power of modern rock giants like Muse, The Killers, and White Lies. Since 2007, Evan Smith (vocals, guitar), Ryan Kirk (piano, synthesizers), Stone Schaefer (bass), and Ethan Thurber (drums) have been crafting expansive, emotionally rich soundscapes that explore the intersection of humanity and the cosmos.
Their debut album, The Sound of Flight, captured the spirit of youth, love, and adventure, launching the band on three national tours in 2012 and 2013. In 2017, their sophomore release, Of Love & Despair, dove deeper—examining romance, loss, and personal growth through a more intimate lens.
In 2019, Skyview charted a bold new trajectory—fusing their sound with storytelling inspired by early space exploration and the dawn of NASA’s Artemis program. That vision came to life in collaborations with astronaut Dr. Sian Proctor (Inspiration4) and immersive concerts at science centers and planetariums across Florida and Georgia.
Skyview has shared stages with Everclear, Cage the Elephant, Wu-Tang Clan, Taking Back Sunday, St. Lucia, Against Me!, The Cruxshadows, and Cute is What We Aim For—bringing their unique “skyward sound” to audiences ready to dream bigger.
