Starting from high school, he set himself apart with his character that labeled him as an artist even before he said it. Some will remember him as a photographer, some Benjamin Ngoma and the rest will know him for who he really is, ‘SLAKSUM’.

Inspired by a rare crop of artists , SLAKSUM has the late legendary OLIVER MTUKUDZI , LUCKY DUDE , PK CHISHALA and the living MUMBA YACHI on his list .

His musical hustle is indeed motivated by a true passion to soar high as he has developed himself from record after record evident by his 2019 THUNDER BEATS MOSI DAY OF THUNDER MUSIC FESTIVAL , nomination to perform in Livingstone . This is the biggest music festival in the country and he missed it by an inch, but lots of lessons learn’t and he’s surely heading for the gold next year, as it has enhanced his perspective.

It has been 7 years now since he started music , as his career dates as far back as primary school. Today he has defined and refined his sense of style whether on the MIC or image .

SLAKSUM started music as a hip pop artist and later switched to afro-beats & dancehall because he felt like he was a misfit in the hip pop and wanted to venture into an uncharted course.

He has done 8 songs , 2 of which are singles and 6 are on his first official EP called, ‘BLESSED KID’ which was released in july 14th on his birthday. The EP has features from the likes of BOBBY EAST , AQUALASKIN , MAPS WAMZ and LUXONO, the whole EP was produced by EAZYTHEPRODUCER and D JONZ.
