Slap Bunt is a four-piece garage punk band based in Chicago, known for chaotic live shows, genre-bending riffs, and a total disregard for musical boundaries. Their debut album, Family Unfriendly, is entirely self-produced and proudly lo-fi, capturing the raw energy that defines their sound.
The lineup features singer/guitarist Mira Moss, drummer Joe Kambic, bassist JJ Padovani, and rhythm guitarist Dan Pourroy. Formed in June 2018 by childhood friends Mira and Joe, the band found its full form when JJ and Dan joined, kicking off their most prolific and unhinged era to date.
Drawing inspiration from punk, country, metal, noise, and whatever else they’re obsessed with that week, Slap Bunt isn’t here to stick to one lane. Their songs swing from wild-eyed thrash to heartfelt twang, with lyrics that touch on queerness, alienation, friendship, and furious joy.
Whether they're playing basements, dive bars, or DIY festivals, Slap Bunt thrives on chaos, catharsis, and community.
