Sleeky Junior

Born and raised in Venda, Sleeky Junior -- a name whose origin is not remembered -- first appeared in the hip hop scene right after high school in 2013 as part of a group called BLR FAM.

Growing up, Sleeky&#39;s first contact with music came through listening to reggae music by <a href="spotify:artist:2QsynagSdAqZj3U9HgDzjD" data-name="Bob Marley & The Wailers">Bob Marley & The Wailers</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1IXCXpFI1YzBfFRsWxdmwz" data-name="Colbert Mukwevho">Colbert Mukwevho</a> until in 2008, he bumped into <a href="spotify:artist:55Aa2cqylxrFIXC767Z865" data-name="Lil Wayne">Lil Wayne</a>&#39;s <a href="spotify:album:5BGzOpea6At0Nd7tYtYZOP" data-name="Tha Carter III">Tha Carter III</a>. This introduction to Hip Hop led to desire to start writing and rapping his own raps.

It was in 2014 where his solo Rap career kicked off when he met a friend in varsity who had a microphone and could operate Fruity Loops. The first song recorded was Deeper Than Rap, which has now become a sequel, currently sitting at <a href="spotify:track:1ECtpUXSM6hibE8I0PnuNE" data-name="SBM Presentation 2 / Deeper Than Rap 3">SBM Presentation 2 / Deeper Than Rap 3</a>.

The continued recording and releasing got him to meet rapper, producer <a href="spotify:artist:2F8IjyapF8vckJtiu0qeUf" data-name="Hs.Teria">Hs.Teria</a>, with whom songs like <a href="spotify:track:1SWiB4uWBKPmn9JE79DOtR" data-name="21st Century (feat. Ledi)">21st Century (feat. Ledi)</a> were made.

The relationship between <a href="spotify:artist:2F8IjyapF8vckJtiu0qeUf" data-name="Hs.Teria">Hs.Teria</a> and Sleeky grew as Sleeky&#39;s label Spit Bars Music (Pty) Ltd grew, and they formed a band called ABLE (also under the label), that has seen the release of 1 project, &quot;The Plain Field EP&quot;.

Currently, Spit Bars Music (Pty) Ltd is comprised of <a href="spotify:artist:2F8IjyapF8vckJtiu0qeUf" data-name="Hs.Teria">Hs.Teria</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2tGQa8hxb6k1oOgrGHk435" data-name="Colin Magwedze">Colin Magwedze</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:76nvqyBTjrIWX6iVOIzTex" data-name="OuterPlan">OuterPlan</a>, $ly and Ma.iige.

In 2017, Sleeky Junior released his debut project <a href="spotify:album:0Ox4smY5rDYkvzz65uBsVB" data-name="Sketches: A DSI Prelude">Sketches: A DSI Prelude</a> and then released <a href="spotify:album:29FhtquRk6mWMWIWJEwiFO" data-name="Dark Side Illuminated II">Dark Side Illuminated II</a> in 2018.
