Sleepwoka

Although he has played bass since age 12, Sleepwoka started writing music just 7 years ago but never released it publicly. After moving to London in 2017 he began experimenting with music production and released his first single in the Summer of 2019. Since then he has released a string of successful singles and gained the attention of the likes of BBC Music Introducing, Earmilk, Variance and Atwood magazine, significantly growing his following on social media and receiving thousands of streams of his music.

Producing his music in his bedroom, the strong use of analog synthesizers brings a nostalgic 80’s vibe and the dream-like atmospheric visuals add a surreal tone to his projects. Sleepwoka’s lyrics are personal reflections and experiences of dissonating everyday life through the eyes of a Post-Soviet immigrant. He displays a real skill in depicting thought-provoking and often nostalgic scenarios of everyday life accompanied by captivating and catchy electronica soundscapes. Influenced by surreal art and film, the visuals often carry the story of the songs into a fantastical dimension that somehow still speaks to our realities.
