Born and raised in Southern California, Slick J was easily influenced by West Coast Hip-Hop. Although, having spent most of his childhood listening to 80's funk, freestyle, and oldies; he knew Hip-Hop music was his calling once he discovered it. While starting his journey into the music industry at only 15, Slick J became a self taught lyricist, producer, and audio engineer throughout the following years, allowing him to create music completely on his own. With his biggest influences being J. Cole, Kid Cudi, and Eminem his passion is to create music packed with emotion and message. Whether it be rage, melancholy, or empowerment, he aims to deliver something you feel just from listening.
