Slick Shoota

Slick Shoota is known for his high energy club hybrids. His productions draws on sounds from Chicago’s footwork, UK jungle and a host of other underground of club music genres. From that he has carved out a unique sound that bridges both historical and geographical gaps. It is well defined, instantly recognizable and always shows a willingness to explore new sonic paths.

His music has been released across top labels in the bass music scene, and his unofficial remixes of tracks like Hudson Mohawk’s Cbat and LV & Josh Idehen’s Imminent has been rinsed by DJ’s across the globe. He received a glowing review of the Mad Decent released single ‘F Dat’ on Pitchfork.

Slick Shoota is the co-founder of the renowned Oslo club night Ball Em Up, that has seen success in hosting performers like Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones, Visionist, Jam City and Yung Lean. His abilities as a DJ and selector earned him a spot on Boiler Room’s line up in Munich in May 2017, playing alongside names such as Skee Mask, Schlachthofbronx and Danny Scrilla.

Since joining Teklife, Slick Shoota has regularly contributed to their releases, releasing tracks on compilations from the label, like his collaboration with DJ Earl on On Life Vol. 2 and their VIP compilations. This has naturally all been leading up to Teklife releasing his debut album FUNCTION in 2020. It will be an 8 track release, that expands on and explores the signature sounds he’s become known for during the course of his career.
