Simone Pennazza (born March 28th, 1985), professionally known as SLIM ONE, is an Italian disc jockey (DJ) and a record producer. He is also the co-founder of Street Ministry Records.
BIO:
His passion for music, especially rap, inspired him to travel around the world to see the American underground as well as mainstream artists live.
Impressed by the ability of different DJs, such as DJ Lord, the X-Ecutioners, DJ Jazzy Jaff, DJ Scratch and Jam Master Jay, he decided to buy the Technics 1210 turntables, which brought him closer to the world of Djing.
After obtaining a diploma from the DJ SCHOOL of Rome, he improved his turntablism technique first and the MPC later; both thanks to his mentor, Aimé Mat. The MPCing will be his artistic vocation.
PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE:
He makes beats by taking samples of the 70/80 soul, jazz and funk vinyls records through the Drum Machine which made Hip-Hop history. (MPC)
He gets inspired by the legendary DJ Premier,Marley Marl, JDILLA, RZA, Pete Rock.
MUSIC:
On Dec 2nd, 2016 he released his debut album "Ready For Whatever" as record producer under Street Ministry Records label.
On April 26th, 2019 his sophomore LP “Iconic” was released under Street Ministry Records and distributed (vinyl and CD) by Tuff Kong Records. Album is executively produced by Termanology.
