A Miami-based trio of collaborators, SLØNE is a primarily pop-driven vessel, laced with touches of hip-hop, r&b and ambient rock.
Formerly the hook-writer for a Miami hip-hop collective, which spawned some of her earliest experiences with writing and performing rhymes and spoken-word, followed by a seven-year stretch as front woman of an experimental indie rock band, Ricki Denim’s vocal stylings are best understood through these experiences. A deep appreciation for both genres permeates her vocal expression.
Both hailing from prominent Orlando-based ambient rock band, Makari, guitarist Eric Stewart and bassist/beat-maker John Tomasso lend colorful, emotional layers of rock and r&b instrumentation to SLØNE’s sound, capable of telling stories without words.
Combining these musical influences into a pop-geared production was the challenge accepted and executed by Orlando-based producer, Andrew Wade. Best recognized for his extensive discography with metalcore/pop-punk band, A Day to Remember, Wade pioneered the direction of SLØNE’s debut release, 12 Hours. The first single of many more to come from this dynamic team.
SLØNE’s content draws from genuine recounts of sometimes messy, tragic or difficult experiences, capturing emotion and passion while maintaining simple catchy pop formulas.
