We started Slow Fade Sailors in 2018 without really telling anyone. We released an instrumental piano EP called <a href="spotify:album:4r4uDSOluGi5a41Jh8XuZA" data-name="Lovers in No Mind's Land">Lovers in No Mind's Land</a> because we had things that needed to be said but couldn't be said with words. We put it out there and it really took off more than anything we could have imagined. Our song <a href="spotify:track:1NdgOyzoqE6FHIm7tM5ySM" data-name="Be, Leave">Be, Leave</a> was added to <a href="spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX4sWSpwq3LiO" data-name="Peaceful Piano">Peaceful Piano</a> and it racked up more than 20 million streams.
Since then, Slow Fade Sailors has become a refuge where we write emotive cinematic music together on Irene’s Piano. Irene was my (David) grandmother who passed away before I was born. Although we never had the chance to meet, we share a birthday and I swear I can hear her whisper soft melodies in my ear when I’m out of ideas for songs.
We write simple tunes and try to find just the right notes to help create a space in you where silence and music can coexist.
