Slowrip formed in Brisbane / Meanjin in 2020 as a home demo project comprised of members from local heavyweights Velociraptor, Babaganuoj & Tiny Migrants. Over the course of the year the band crafted their goth / post-punk sound and transitioned from the confines of the bedroom to the live sphere.
Recorded in a single day at Plutonium studios, 2021’s debut EP New Invention launched two singles 'Keith' and ‘Traffic Patrol’ with the latter charting in the 4ZZZ Hot 100.
2022 sees the band continue to refine their sound present on the release of their latest single, ‘Internet’.
Fusing goth, punk and psychedelia, Slowrip’s sound is equal parts familiar, unique, furious, controlled and unpredictable.
