Fusing a spastic, unorthodox approach to hardcore with straightforward hard rock riffs and a raging passion for pro wrestling, Sweden's the Smackdown recorded their first demo in 2001 and followed it with a 7" single released through Coalition Records the next year. Extensive live work ensued and, come 2006, vocalist Rob Hardy, guitarists Linus Polumbo and Vesslan, bassist JJ Styles, and drummer Matte Kryss recorded their debut CD, Someone Has to Kill the Headwriter, for release through Goodfellow Records. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
