Weaving global melodies with contemporary electronic music, Smg is an experimental project of Mumbai-based Indie artist Shantanu Gursal.
Smg’s ability to seamlessly combine emotive songwriting with electro-inspired production has seen him take the terrains of Electro-pop and more.

He began his project in 2017 as a DJ when he packed his DJ sets with a wide array of genres ranging from House, Disco to Drum & Bass; and naturally, his penchant for explorations drew him into productions where he started experimenting with distinct styles before making Electro-pop his standout genre.

Soon after consolidating his sound, he released "Walk" and "One Dance” which grossed over 200k+ global streams which turned out to be a watershed moment in Smg’s journey as a debut Indie artist. His music has seen the list of many Apple and Spotify playlists like ‘A-List Pop’, ‘Breaking Indian Independent’, ‘Future Hits’ ‘Indian Independent Hits’, ‘Fresh Finds Indie’, ‘Sound Of Mumbai’, and many more. He has also been featured in top music publications like the Rolling Stones, Indian Music Diaries, Wild City, etc defining the spirit of an Indie artist.
His ultimate dream is to take his music and perform at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, a place that kickstarted a 6-year spree of shows as a kid where he stepped into an abyss of musical voyages.

He graciously describes this vision of his in two syllables as ‘One Dream’. Determined to accomplish his dream, it’s safe to say that he is only getting started.
