SmokeStacks is the sonic equivalent of the sharp edge of romance. Over the last several years TF Marz (Marley Schwartz) and ShowMe (Henry Krant) have been defining their own brand of bass music, incorporating elements of Hip Hop, RnB, Neo-Soul, and Future Bass. Playing on the dichotomy of Sensual Rough, SmokeStacks’ music spans the breadth of modern romance track to track and within each song. Their sultry verses evoke feelings of longing, loneliness and placidity which quickly turn to driving atmospheric hooks and heavy trap drops inspiring elation, hope, and serenity.
The Oregon-bred duo premiered their debut track “Misuse” in March 2016 via Play It Louder, which is a collaboration with LA artist Cosmic Quest and featuring vocalist Virginia Palms. The duo followed that with their festival debut at Lightning in a Bottle in May 2016 and a set at "Camp ?" at Burning Man. In September 2016 they released their debut collaborative Water Before Gold - EP, with Virginia Palms. 2017 is looking to be an even more progressive year for the duo, with a new EP in the works, along with numerous remixes, collaborations, and live sets up and down the West Coast and beyond.
“SmokeStacks has been working hard towards releasing a new EP which is, “a bit more dark and sinister” according to SmokeStacks’ own Marley Schwartz. Be sure to check them out and get ready for some dirty danceable delights later this summer.” -Inside Out Presents
