Snarez, aka Kostis Mougios, was born in Athens, raised in Amsterdam and also spent 5 years in Japan. As an only child, he grew up soaking in a lot of music that his mother used to play. This ranged from Stevie wonder, Al Jarreau, Luther Vandross and Marcus Miller to UB40, Sun, Sting and many more. Since he was young, he had always been involved in many music genres. After school or work he would go practice in metal bands to then go home after and listen to Bireli Lagrene, Pat Metheny, Cannibal Ox, Darc Mind or some Boards of Canada. Because of this, for a very long time it was not clear to him what his musical journey would look like. All this mixing of genres plus the extensive collection of over 3000 vinyl records that he has collected over the years made him come to the conclusion that he was going to make music on his own terms, playing all the instruments himself and blending whatever comes to mind into feelings that pour out into his music.
