SNIPES/S.N.I
The Origin
One can trace the roots of their destiny by the roads they have traveled. In the case of Morgan Grist Aka Snipes SNI, The Jamaican/Native Indian wordsmith sharpened his wordplay on the streets of Toronto and it’s neighboring towns of Missisauga and Malton. Having been exposed to the worlds trials and tribulations at the young age of 14, his first hand account of the ills that plague the streets helped shaped the verbal venom he would soon unleash on the world.
The Inspiration
Music has always been Snipes’ gateway drug of choice. Having a mother that exposed him to Iconic artists such as Bob Marley, Garnet Silk, Cocoa Tea as well as a diverse range of genres that ranged from Rock and Roll, Hip-Hop and Reggae created a musical algorithm that few can duplicate or even attempt. Snipes states “singing came from my mom. I never wanted to believe I could sing but I accepted the fact that I could as I got older and chose my own path”.
The Identity:
“The name SNI stems from the name snipes but also holds a meaning that came from my personality and the way my calm and collective way of thinking and acting. It gets the job done and done well; swag with no intent”.
