A rural bengal barn independent artist, soham grew up between two worlds, his family's deep ties to sculpting art and the years he spent soaking up ''Baul'' music at Santiniketan , the soulful spritual notes from nomadies of pastoral 'Radh Bengal''
His old time dotara picking skills, deft arrangements and song composing abilities have landed him in the spotlight in Bolpur,Kolkata, Mumbai,Hyderabad and different parts of India, garnering critical acclaim evolved out of collaboration with ''Zubaan'', which is an independent music platform in India. Soham started his career early in childhood, crafting his music skills on traditional instruments like flute, khamak, dotara to add many prestigious feathers of public appearances. Presently draws his influence from a wide range spectrum of myriad rural and regional notes- searching for the ''rootedness.
He took a decidedly different direction, choosing to learn into wider aray of sounds and styles with contemporary instruments , in order to convey a wider array of eclectic mix of traditional music expanded in contemporary form and emotive note.
He believes in the voyage of self discovery through introspective music of regional circuit, embracing the Land- Culture to rejuvenate the traditional and regional music form of India.
