Since SOHMI emerged as a producer, vocalist, and DJ in 2019 she has enthralled dance floors with tracks like “Time” and “4 My Soul” that effortlessly bond progressive house & techno, pop, and R&B into her own genre known as Pop Tech. She’s developed a passionate fan base through spellbinding sets at renowned festivals like Coachella and Outside Lands as well as celebrated venues like The Brooklyn Mirage, Space Miami, and fabric London.
In 2018 she taught herself to produce and DJ and officially launched the SOHMI project with a self-titled mix on Soundcloud. Barely a year later she was a resident at Sound, LA’s premier house and techno club, and landed a slot at her first festival, Ultra Korea. By the end of 2020, BBC Radio 1 was broadcasting her music, which was picked up by notable dance labels such as Astralwerks and Odd One Out. She also delivered her sultry vocals on “Sunday Sunset,” a chart-topping collaboration with UK house maestro Josh Butler.
Following the success of these releases, SOHMI exploded onto the touring circuit in 2021. She headlined institutions like Audio SF and Spybar Chicago and regularly supported titans like Kaskade, Hot Since 82, and Boris Brejcha. She also launched her own label Permission as an outlet for her eclectic, genre-defying taste and productions.
New music coming soon will reveal the full breadth of SOHMI’s musical vision, which continues to combine her powerful dance floor instincts with stirring pop and R&B sensibilities.
