Sole Control

As a one-person act, it was never the intention of Sole Control to play live shows or tour in any meaningful sense. Born out of the desire to represent an array of rock-based influences (up to and including extreme metal), the feasibility of doing so with backup musicians only carrying out this singular vision would be futile.
Beginning the recording process in 2008, the music of Sole Control stays focused on its original, and simple, mission: creating contemporary guitar-based heavy rock that doesn't suck. The project's first LP, "The End of Analogue" , was released in late 2009 and was quite raw but not without sophistication. Covering a wide spectrum of tastes, including death metal, the intent of the first record was to showcase diverse tastes to a general audience.
As quickly as those songs were written and recorded, the next batch took 13 years to assemble. Released in 2022, "Birchwood Towers" features more refined compositions, which notably did not include any extreme metal productions. That there are now several of those, and given the unique characteristics of those recordings, they will be released separately.
Artist biographies frequently cite the influences that drive their creative efforts, but Soul Control would prefer the listener freely connect this music with the artists of the past that they enjoy, rather than listing a who's -who of his CD and cassette collection. Headphones and a lack of competing priorities are recommended.
