I was born on the prairie, in a small town surrounded by open fields and endless sky. That sense of space and stillness has been the pulse beneath everything I create as an artist. As a teenager, I picked up a guitar and wrote a few songs. I’ve been dreaming about music my whole life, and I knew that if I truly wanted it, I would have to devote myself completely.

Eventually I landed in California and had the good fortune of meeting Narada Michael Walden— producer to legends like Whitney, Mariah, and Aretha, who opened the door to a life in music I’d always felt was waiting for me. We collaborated writing songs for many artists including Diana Ross, Al Jarreau, Ray Charles, Tevin Campbell.

Today, I’m writing & singing from the heart, songs that honor where I’ve been & what I believe in my own voice. “We Can Change The World” co-written with my late friend Robert Finney & finished with Grammy-winning producers Bizkit & Butta,is a message of new possibilities and love for these times.
