F**K the Bad Vibes. That’s the motto and mission statement for SOLENCE, a charming quartet of high-energy Swedes defined as much by their endless optimism as their boundless talent.
The world can be cruel, but SOLENCE offers a simple cure: A Banger a Day Keeps the Doctor Away.
It’s an album title and a way of life for the latest Scandinavian export in rock innovation. The group combines big pop hooks with a dancefloor electro savvy and the heavy (but melodic) intensity of Swedish metal trailblazers into a distinctive international sound equal parts hypnotic and uplifting.
The band puts all their energy into lifting anyone in a dark state of mind into a brighter place. A SOLENCE performance is a participatory sport. Audiences are encouraged to sing and bounce along, as evidenced during electrifying sets at festivals and on a sold-out tour with Electric Callboy in 2023.
Markus Videsäter, David Strääf, Johan Swärd, and David “Viking” Vikingsson first built their sizable worldwide audience from a shared living space in Stockholm. They self-produced each release, including Brothers, the Direction EP (which broke them into the Active Rock chart), Deafening, Hope is a Cult, and 2024’s A Banger a Day Keeps the Doctor Away.
