Solqlap Budapest

Solqlap Budapest is a seven piece instrumental hip hop ensemble combining musicians, DJ's and producers from the heart of Hungary.
Their style is rooted in the traditions of soul, funk and jazz music of the 70s and the conscious, sample heavy boom-bap sound of the 90's. Combining this with elements of modern electronica and future beats, they create their unique brand of hip-hop, always delivering something new to their audience. Solqlap is more of a family-like creative collective than your average live band. The members are all exploring and expressing their unique personal sound through their endeavours as solo artists or professional producers and session musicians. A quick look at their discography will lead you to a rabbit hole of diverse styles and textures ranging from experimental electronica and hip hop to pop, footwork, jazz and afrobeat.
