Jason Karau aka "Somburd" first experienced sound when he was given a wooden spoon and a metal sauce pan... Actually, several sauce pans... The early video is filled with the loud banging and ringing of thin metal and an annoyed mother. But she knew that was a sign of something because this kid was actually keeping rhythm.
Fast Forward from 1998 to 2014 with years of music lessons and introductions to new instruments... Somburd got his hands on production. He knew the drums, and some keys but wanted more. Production classes and music theory was thrown out the window. Trial and error became the chosen path.
Somburd's first release "Oxborough" in 2016/2017 was the result of that trial and error. The sounds feature a feeling of uncertainty while growing up and experiencing life on your own at college right out of high school. It pairs well with introverts, who just need a way to come down from social highs and refocus yourself.
After Oxborough, a lot changed in a short period of time. From solace to energetic, a realization was made to make something more profound. Other albums were released when a small bout of underground notoriety was captured. Enjoy the others: "Mariner" - "Halcyon" - "Veloce"- and now "ad populum" is up next.
