Something Clever was a heavy rock band born out of the North Carolina music scene in 2013. Known for their blend of aggressive riffs, soaring vocals, and introspective lyrics, the band built a passionate regional following through dynamic live shows and an evolving sound that fused post hardcore, alternative metal, and nu metal influences.

Over the years, Something Clever shared stages with national acts like Puddle of Mudd, Nonpoint, and Adelitas Way, carving out a loyal fanbase in the Southeast. Their Season of Darkness EP captured the band at their most raw and vulnerable, featuring fan favorite "Freaks Like You," a dark and anthemic single that resonated with outsiders and outcasts alike, solidifying its place as one of their most iconic songs. That release set the stage for their 2017 full length album Season of Light, which marked a creative high point anchored by the explosive track “Rise.” The song “Rise” gained wider recognition through placements on popular TV shows and video games, expanding their reach beyond the stage.

In 2020, after nearly a decade of relentless work, Something Clever released two final singles, “Let It Kill Me” and “11 Days,” before quietly stepping into an indefinite hiatus.

Though the band is no longer active, their music lives on. This page serves as a digital monument to their legacy, a place for longtime fans and new listeners to discover the sound and spirit of Something Clever.
