Somni is Leo Shulman, a UK born, LA based producer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. With a wide range of influences spanning from Elliott Smith to Flying Lotus, Somni’s music generally toes the line between indie/bedroom pop, electronic beat music, and lo-fi hip hop. With features from Pigeons and Planes, Mixmag, NPR, Electronic Sound, Bandcamp Daily and more, Somni continues to push boundaries with his refreshing, genre-bending style.
Leo began his path as a musician very early on, learning classical and jazz guitar as a preteen and drums and keyboard as an early teenager. By high school, he was experimenting with songwriting and production, which eventually led to the launch of Somni in 2018. Since then he has released 3 full-length Somni albums - Bloom (2018), Home (2020), and Gravity (2023) - as well as a number of EP’s, singles, collaborations, and remixes.
