"Somnus", the embodiment of sleep.
Somnum Yüth's sonic palette is an "intricate tapestry of influence", with their songs traversing the realms of alternative/indie, soft rock, folk, and even psychedelic progressive rock.
The Maryland based duo was formed during the onset of the pandemic in 2020. With no prior experience in music production, the band begun making tracks in Garageband, quickly finding success with their debut single "amber road". The name "somnum yüth" itself suggests the ethereal and dreamlike quality that characterizes their music to this day.
Since these early days, the band has fully embraced their unorthodox identity, taking advantage of guitarist George Psacharopoulos' soulful blues riffs and atmospheric soundscapes to complement vocalist Ryan Yeatmans' melancholy delivery. Often delving into themes of love, loss, and existential grief, "Somnum Yüth" continue to prove they are not afraid pull back the curtain.
