Sónia Trópicos is the artistic alias of Sónia Margarido, born on the day that celebrates the Portuguese Carnation Revolution in 1991 and raised in Tagus’ south Margin. Her path of artistic exploration went through design, illustration, and ceramics, making her début in musical production in 2020. Her first steps were taken with the ensemble Beats By Girlz, which motivated her to develop her own tracks and remixes, launching them through SoundCloud.
Her sound is warm, with creative synths and samples, particularly keen on lusophone melodies.
In 2022, she won the open call PULSAR, aimed at female electronic music producers, which facilitated the development of her first EP, “Astral Anormal”. The EP was remixed in 2023 by several producers.
Also in 2023, Sónia was invited to play in the live shows of Pedro Mafama and released her second EP "Singela".
