Sonic Maha is a psychedelic garage rock band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Haziq Shaqimi and Cody Shadan founded the project in the middle of 2019 after being mutual friends for more than 3 years. With their sonic escapade underway they recruited Tiinesh on the bass and Sebastian in the drums
Composition of their songs come about through a process of intensive improvised jam sessions with a bedrock of dynamic soundscapes summoned with all four being the mastermind.
In January 2020, Sonic Maha released their debut single "The Welcoming / Pterodactyl City". The song gives us an introduction of how the energy is going to be like on most of their recordings and even their live performances. A well known producer (Mokthar A Rizal) describes Sonic Maha as a band full of chaotic explosive energy but at the same time very well structured.
Around March 2020, Sonic Maha released their first full length album "Pterodactyl City"
The band is set to release two albums in 2021
