New! Algorithms For Destruction
This is the second album from Canadian stoner/doom/sludge one-man band Sonic Void. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), to support programs that advance care and help families affected by autism.
Lyrically, the album draws from Jared Diamond’s Guns, Germs, and Steel and Isaac Asimov’s Foundation books. Two works that explore how civilizations rise, fall, and try to make sense of themselves. Algorithms For Destruction reflects on the idea that we may already have the tools, like math, psychology, and data science, to predict our own collapse. But instead of using them to prevent it, we’ve commodified them. Our data is mined, packaged, and sold for profit, not survival.
Sonic Void is a Canadian Doom Metal band. It is a one man project born out of isolation. It is travelling through time to find one man’s sonic void. A total auditory annihilation abruptly stopping light particles in its tracks, while trapped forever.
