Hailing from Lafayette, Indiana, Sonny & The Stars is a 5-piece blues rock band with a mission to create meaningful and powerful music. Led by singer/songwriter Nathan (“Sonny”) Adamson, Sonny & The Stars has had a history as complex and rich as their sound.
Starting out as a solo artist going by the moniker “Sonny Adam”, Nathan released his first single, "Truth", in January 2023, and his first EP, "My Own Way", in the following months. He quickly realized the sound of others would help productions sound more professional and dense, while simultaneously adding more creative energy to the mix. In early 2023, he founded Sonny & The Stars with 4 friends he met in his school’s jazz band. This group would go on to mix and record <a href="spotify:album:2pl9BWamYK73DNqIoYFYub" data-name="New Age Old School">New Age Old School</a> that summer. These recordings were meticulously mastered by Nathan at college and released in December. After this album, every member except for Nathan departed from the band, mainly due to geographical changes beginning that Fall. The present day iteration of the Stars is a group of students Nathan met while at Purdue University. They can often be found at live music events on or around campus, as well as in downtown Lafayette.
A good mix of covers and original compositions lays the foundation for our current live shows, as well as our newest album, <a href="spotify:album:5SDurfOaQdhI07yDzoEQ04" data-name="D.O.R.M.">D.O.R.M.</a>, which aims to serve as a soundtrack for college life. We hope you will join us on our journey to breathe life and inflection back into popular music.
