Sonophagen is a project led by musicians tired of Western tradition. Darío Vázquez and Paco Salinas, Mexicans by birth but cosmopolitan by music, are dedicated to collect sounds from the world and create new sounds from them. Theirs music fuses elements from many cultures around the world: Arabic, Eastern, African, Latin, Balkan rhythms and, sometimes, rock music because it is impossible to get it out of your veins. The combination of all these rhythms creates a mixture of different flavors and textures that can transport you to a place that you will surely not visit in any other way.
People called it "World Music". They called it Nu Folk. With an independent production, researching, harmonization and mixing, these musicians try to bring the colors of the world to your skin.
But Sonophagen is more than a band; it is also an independent artists' network. Through this community, musicians worldwide connect to collaborate, create and grow together.
