Sophia Veraz

With songwriting prolificacy well beyond her years, Sophia Veraz is the one to watch in the new UK alt-pop scene. Fusing beautifully introspective lyrics about gender and adolescence with a Californian alt-pop sound, her music speaks volumes to anyone who listens.

Coming from Manchester UK, Sophia writes about her experiences growing up and discovering who she is, confronting difficult moments she’s faced and felt. Sophia is a self-proclaimed product of her environment and it’s what makes her immeasurably special.


Sophia’s music evokes goosebumps and tears before you realise it’s happening. Her voice, filled with story and emotion cuts straight through you and pulls you deeper into her world. Taking inspiration from the likes of The Japanese House, Ben Kessler and LANY, Sophia combines her prolific guitar playing with production from Shute (Siobhan Winifred, Josie Oliver) and Toby Ollis-Brownstone (Bonnie Kemplay). Her glistening and captivating debut EP is as perfectly delicate as it is powerful.

Sophia has been circulating the live scene in the north of England for a few years, being a favourite of Sofar Sounds and supporting artists such as Manta and Quiet Houses and was long-listed for Glastonbury 2023’s Emerging Talent competition.
