2022年4月1stシングル「ひとり／ちいさくさよならを」をリリース。ジャズフィールドで活躍中の音楽家、壷阪健登と石川紅奈による、国も世代も超えて分かち合うポップスをお届けするユニット。海の向こうのお気に入りのアーティストの曲名、中東の国の親しみのある女性の名、宇宙に浮かぶ星団の名でもある「soraya」（ソラヤ）という、遥か遠くの何処か想起させる、不思議で親しみやすい響きの言葉を由来とする。無国籍に独自の音楽を追求する壷阪が紡いだ楽曲や、ピアノを中心とする繊細で深いサウンド、石川の唯一無二の歌声とベースの温かい音色は、人々を音楽のプリミティブな魅力へと繋ぐ煌めきと包容力を持ち合わせている。2023年夏はLOVE SUPREME JAZZ FESTIVAL JAPAN 2023や日比谷音楽祭2023などのフェスへも出演。各メンバーのソロ活動も活発化しており、石川紅奈は今年春にJAZZの名門レーベルVerveよりメジャーデビューを果たし、また壷阪健登も国内での単独公演を成功させ、サンセバスチャン国際ジャズ・フェスティバルへの出演を果たすなど、ミュージシャンとして世界への拡がりを見せる。

Released their first single "Hitori / Chiisaku Sayonara wo" in April 2022. This unit, consisting of young musicians Kento Tsubosaka and Kurena Ishikawa who are active in the jazz field, delivers pop music that is shared across countries and generations. The name "Soraya" is derived from a strange and familiar-sounding word that evokes a faraway place: the name of a song by a favorite artist from across the ocean, the name of a familiar woman in a Middle Eastern country, or the name of a cluster of stars floating in space. In the summer of 2023, the group will perform at festivals such as LOVE SUPREME JAZZ FESTIVAL JAPAN 2023 and Hibiya Music Festival 2023. Each member is also active as a soloist, with Kurena Ishikawa making her major label debut this spring on the prestigious jazz label Verve, and Kento Tsubosaka enjoying successful solo performances in Japan and appearing at San Sebastian International Jazz Festival. The group has expanded internationally as musicians.
