Soulmates

SoulMates is a group based in the mid-Sweden city of Örebro. The group was formed in 2008 out of a social as well as musical network where all the members had performed together in different constellations before. From the start the group mainly backed up other Swedish artists, such as Magnus Bäcklund, Gladys del Pilar, Boris René, Martin Almgren and several other successful names. But finally in 2019 they digitally released their first own music, the single “Let the Soul Take Over”, a catchy, groovy, soul-inspired song written by the well-renowned Swedish songwriter Tobias Lundgren.

The music of SoulMates originates from the soul and funk music of the 80s and 90s, with artists like Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Prince and Aretha Franklin, but is also influenced by more modern soul acts like Bruno Mars and Beyoncé. From this mixture emerges a sound with elaborated background vocals and a edgy horn section on top over a solid and funky groove, producing soulful tunes where you can’t avoid to be affected by the joy of music the band delivers.
