South Africa has always had a rich history of affording each generation with its own vessel of music, whose creative prowess gives life to songs that effortlessly become a soundtrack for generations to come.


Such a phenomena has been re-lived through a DUO that hails from KwaZulu Natal, they epitomize African Pop in its purest form and they go by the name "SOULPHIATOWN"
Mxolisi, also known as Mr Smooth, is a beyond awesome vocalist that possesses a commanding and deep voice that is silky smooth.

S'boniso, also known as the Hypnotist, is a powerhouse vocalist that possesses an endearingly semi husky voice that's paired with an amazing tone.

That unique sound, a cross between afro beat, disco and funk, was the reason why Ntsika Fana Ngxanga, a member and lead composer of the internationally acclaimed South African acapella group 'The Soil', signed them to his own record label, Nomadic Tribe.


After digitally releasing their self-titled debut album in 2017, an album that saw them get introduced into SA’s music industry.
Soulphiatown teamed up with two geniuses of note: NTSIKA (a multi award winning composer”) & AVE SONGSMITH (an extraordinary young producer that coins his sound as Afrotropical).


With “African New Age Pop” as their theme, the KZN born duo come back with an even bigger single #ABUPHELI ft Ntsika to throw forward to an EP that will be released later this year titled “ZULU IN MY GROOVE”
