Sound of Origin

Coming from the industrial backdrop of Huddersield ‘Sound of Origin’ (SoO) formed in mid 2016 with the sole intention of becoming a fuzzed out riffing machine, creating music with the ability to ‘chill you out’ or hit you with mammoth sized concussive sound waves and bury then deep inside your brain.


With the first EP Seeds of the Past released July 2017 to excellent reviews ‘SoO’ set about taking their sound to all four corners of the country. Quickly forming a glowing reputation for their thunderous live shows and playing with some of the biggest names in the UK & Irish Underground scene.


With the addition of Joel Bulsara on vocals in 2018 SoO set about writing music for a brand new album. Now coupled with Joel’s massive vocal range the band delved into influences as diverse as the fuzzed our Desert sounds of Kyuss, the classic sounds of Ronnie James Dio and Glenn Hughes venturing all the way down to the murky gloom of Type O Negative, Alice in Chains and Goatsnake. Pigeonholing this bands sound is not an easy thing to do.


With the forthcoming album The All Seeing Eye’ being recorded and mixed by Chris Fielding (Conan) at the legendary Foel studio in Wales and mastered by James Plotkin (Pelican, Earth, Isis), the 9 tracks spread across multiple heavy music genres show SoO to be now much more than just another ‘Fuzz’ band.


Sound of Origin are signed to APF Records and the upcoming album will be released 21st August 2020.
