SoundBlocks

SoundBlocks - aka Louie Lee - is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music producer from Camden Town in North London. His musical influences are representative of the rich and varied musical culture of the area, ranging from Hip Hop and UK Garage, through House and Electronic, to Jazz and Blues.

Each SoundBlocks release is distinctly situated in place and time, and heavily inspired by the physical environment. Post-industrial landscapes, architecture, coastlines, and transportation networks are reflected through a creative use of sampling, synthesisers, interpretative piano improvisations, and a diverse musical range.

Alongside his work in electronic music production, Lee has composed music for independent theatre and film, and performed live at venues and festivals across the UK. He is a regular collaborator with his cousin, Melbourne based artist <a href="spotify:artist:6xiDbFOUdn2x4YdDZvzzsk" data-name="Mortisville">Mortisville</a>, singer songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:7IbYXsxrVgp8Mv0hSjby7Z" data-name="Nadine Wild-Palmer">Nadine Wild-Palmer</a>, and director Stephen Lloyd.

Recently, SoundBlocks has released several tracks through Helsinki record label <a href="spotify:artist:51o8WScUGgjo07eKzIRZ4X" data-name="OAKHI">OAKHI</a>, including 2 tracks for the label’s “Ethereal” vinyl micro series. “Backwaters”, was included on the popular &#64;<a href="spotify:playlist:4bebB39OrqRgoTJ59f2NEg" data-name="Vinyl Moon">Vinyl Moon</a> global music vinyl compilation, a combination of global music with original artwork from emerging visual artists.
