Sounds of Defiance

Guatemalan Riff-Rock band, born out of the necessity to express our collective passion for the genera and bring back it's defying, rebellious nature.

Sounds of Defiance was born in the year 2020, as fellow musicians singer/guitar player/songwriter Julian Gardem, joined forces with bass player/dj/engineer/producer Filo López and guitar virtuoso/engineer/producer Juan Benitez.


To form a unique type of band with a goal in mind, bring back riffs, groove and attitude in a big way! 

As writing sessions get on the way, the first single ¨Colossal¨ is born, a heavy and groove track, with a signature melodic and harmonic chorus, spitted with fiery attitude and a hell of rock and roll ride, the track opens the door with a slam and begins the band's release schedule for 2021. 



On March 15th the bands 2nd single KNIVES is released. An intricate song about being stabbed in the back, finds it revenge finding international popularity propelling the band to 5k listeners a month. An outstanding achievement for a band whose music has been out only since January 2021. Finding an audience in international markets such as London, Frankfurt, Russia and Salt Lake City. 



The band continued to release the singles: Chainsaw, Polygraph, the video sensation: No Contest shot in a boxing ring. And Tied Down. On February 6th 2023 the band will release: Resistance. The bands explosive new single featuring new guitar player Juan Benitez, exploring new sounds and a fine arts inspired video.
