SAM, Stian A. Mikkelsen - as in - SoundStianAndrèMikkelsen (mmmaah, U C?) - from Norway, born in Oslo and grown in Grimstad, started producing music at the age of 14 on the AMIGA 1200 after inspiration from the electronic music scene in North of Norway, and the general interest in synthesizers, vocoders and the vibe urging to dance from from the roots of the soul.
Evolving from simple environments to becoming a schizophrenic audio- loony and insisting on creating everything himself to get his very own sound (that you will unmistakably hear in his productions), with developing techniques from creating the kick-drum from scratch, twisting the knobs on the synths until he gets something unique, to always do something different from last time.
SAM is particular focused on complex grooves, that transmits a certain vibe to your soul, and makes it impossible to not get torn into some ancient rhythmic truth hidden beneath your flesh. And, together with those solid & strict beats, there's i.e. dreamy synth sections, and dedicated acidic flashbacks 'lows', and of course, infinte vocoders, by -yours truly's- unique print.
Mr. Mikkelsen has a very broad genre loop, and in his material u will find everything from chilled dark, sunny and lusty lounge atmospheres to Italoish disco and electronica, to deep, dark and filthy house grooves to get you covered for any occasion.
