Soundserif is a collective of musicians founded by Fabrizio Serrecchia, multi-instrumentalist and author.
The first album titled "12 pieces in the shape of an apple" (parody of Erik Satie's 'Trois Morceaux en forme de poire') arouses a certain interest especially among English-speaking audiences and allows the band to perform several times at the "International Pop Overthrow Festival" at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, the legendary venue where the Beatles performed at the beginning of their career. Excellently reviewed by Powerpopaholic, a reference blog for power pop, the album contains some of the group's major influences: Beatles, 10cc, Xtc, Squeeze, Beach Boys, Crowded House, Steely Dan, etc.
Over the years, Soundserif has collaborated with various foreign artists: Peter Mac Partland of "Big I am," Wim Oudijk, Laurie Biagini, Steve Stoeckel of "Spongetones," and Vinnie Zummo. Currently, they are working on their next album which, like the previous one, will have a decidedly Brit sound, but without disregarding jazz atmospheres and influences and echoes of refined American pop.
Current lineup (2024): Luisa Ferrari/vocals, acoustic guitar - Paolo Ciarlo/vocals, electric guitar - Daniele Arcolin/keyboards and backing vocals - Fabrizio Serrecchia/bass and backing vocals - Emiliano Girolami/electric guitar - Francesco Miletta/drums
