Marcel Jones was born and raised in Harlem NY. As a youth he lived in various housing developments such as Foster Projects also known as Martin Luther King Towers. At just 13 years old Marcel moved to Grant Projects, located on 125th street and Amsterdam Avenue, when he immediately began to thrive as a fiercely competitive basketball player and as a rapper of rich potential. Soupblack quickly climbed the ranks, and by adulthood he had already become part of two independent companies. Board of Directors (B.O.D.) and Ironclad (owned by Big Tito, formerly of The Fearless Four) provided an education for a young and hungry entrepreneur. Emerging as a businessman and artist, Soupblack had arrived and swiftly received an LLC for his own company, Watchblack Entertainment.

Releasing his first solo work in 2018, Soupblack has been on a steep trajectory ever since. Live shows brought critical acclaim and notoriety, prompting show promoters Afton to reach out and offer Soupblack a string of opportunities. Now, Soupblack stands ready to drop his debut album, ‘URBAN SUMMERS’ on November 13th, 2020 and take his journey to the next exciting level.
