Los Angeles based songwriting duo, Sour Honey is all about creating a mood. Whether that be through upbeat and lighthearted alt-pop songs, old school R&B or any flavor in between, Sour Honey puts the meaning of their songs before genre. With influences from Leon Bridges to Maren Morris, Sour Honey aims to collaborate with different songwriters and artists alike to create unique songs.
Sour Honey is made up of native New Yorker and vocalist Kay-Kay Filizzola and Brazilian-born guitarist and producer Fili Filizzola.
Kay-Kay and Fili’s worlds collided in 2013 while studying music at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. They didn’t know much about each other at the time. But they knew one thing: they both lived and breathed music.
Through their music, Sour Honey aims to translate the human experience. Living through tragedy, falling in love, fear of something new; we all have a story to tell. Sour Honey wants to help tell these stories.
