Sugary sweet as their name suggests, Sourpatch channels the twee Northwest sound of <a href="spotify:artist:1fXw2uWfwAlNxlDsW8cKIS">Velocity Girl</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0hTUZPp1ELWpYFuSYoNPgB">Tiger Trap</a>, or any number of girl-fronted bubblegum-punk groups on the roster of <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Spin+Art%22">Spin Art</a> or <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Slumberland%22">Slumberland</a> in the '90s. Formed in San Jose in late 2008, Nicole Munoz, Christine Tupou, Mandi Farrell, and Rich Gutierrez played two short tours, self-released a seven-song demo, and released a free single on Where It’s At Is Where You Are (WIAIWYA) by the end of 2009.
