Bred on the south side of Charlotte off Nations Ford Road, Southside Gauxst bleeds authenticity through his rugged streetwise raps over an array of production personifying Southern trap rap. Gauxst’s first project Southside Get The Money in 2017 introduced his adept wordplay over bass heavy tracks while the more refined Southside Get The Money II in 2020 cemented him as one of Carolina’s rising trap rappers with songs like “448.0” and “Logistics Major.” Gauxst also showcased his range on the introspective track, “Winter,” featuring Charlotte heavyweights Deniro Farrar and Lute in 2020.
2021’s Still Hiding In Plain Sight is Southside Gauxst’s most impressive album to date, finding his flow swerving in and out of haunting beats and building anticipation for his astute hooks on “The Fifth” and “The Score.”
