Although their name was inspired by an obscure cult movie from 1965, the chief musical inspiration behind Sweden's Space Probe Taurus is that same decade's psychedelic acid-fuzz space rock and metal, as resurrected and synthesized in the 1990s by New Jersey's infamous Monster Magnet. Space Probe Taurus were founded circa 1993 by drummer Sundler and bassist/vocalist Enberg, but didn't really achieve escape velocity until the arrival of vocalist/guitarist Sjöberg almost five years later and, completing their most stable lineup in 2000, guitarist/vocalist Eronen. At that point, Space Probe Taurus stepped up their Scandinavian touring efforts and the recordings of frequent self-released demos and EPs, as well as several compilation and tribute album tracks, but incredibly have yet to record a full-length LP. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
