Formed in Buffalo, New York in 2012 after Nick Reynolds (vocals, strings) returned home from his time living in NYC writing and performing with his surf band Aaron & the Burrs (then featuring future members of the punk band Big Ups) -- Space Wolves emerged out of several collaborations between Nick and drummer Chris Scamurra, dating back as early as 2004.
The DIY duo started recording Nick's garage-pop songs and went on to release four cassette tapes in their first year. Their music focuses on close harmony, layers of guitar, and brevity in songwriting. Known for their short and tight live sets featuring Nick's lo-fi vocals sung into a telephone microphone and his hybrid guitar/bass instrument, Space Wolves supported their early work on the road, but have since made sporadic live appearances.
