In 2021 <a href="spotify:artist:7b4iaCNLICIVarlSqjGrLi" data-name="Joey Porter">Joey Porter</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:4nEUXGyTWXweCdfVf7f8zN" data-name="The Motet">The Motet</a>) decided to record 5 reggae grooves. He showed them to <a href="spotify:artist:4aqsBiXgPo3vj7KCrZYiaw" data-name="Garrett Sayers">Garrett Sayers</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:4nEUXGyTWXweCdfVf7f8zN" data-name="The Motet">The Motet</a>) who was inspired to write 5 reggae grooves of his own. Together they arranged and recorded their ideas at Joey’s home studio in Colorado. Joey Porter plays guitar, keyboards, percussion, melodica, and drum machine programming. Garrett plays bass and synthesizers. <a href="spotify:artist:283nM4qq83QsqRLbSz3iAl" data-name="Jeff Franca">Jeff Franca</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:25KNo5GDS6ZpLkjasaecA3" data-name="Thievery Corporation">Thievery Corporation</a>) plays percussion on the album.
