SPARKWOODS
Sparkwoods is a producer/artist out of Ottawa, Ontario, blending genres and influences from hip hop, alternative rock, and various forms of experimental music. Sparkwoods has an extensive catalogue of hip-hop production in forms of numerous instrumental albums and various collaborations with hip-hop artists. With the release of the album "Chalice Dungeon Music" in 2024, the artistic direction changed towards full fledged songs, incorporating aspects of new wave, synthwave, punk, metal, and ambient music, all coming together on a 12 track album, that acts as a sort of alternative musical journey. The next EP, titled "Roentgen", the direction once again changed to more acoustic-based grunge inspired alternative rock tracks. Sparkwoods latest release, the "Stranding" EP, delivered three tracks with varying genre ranges, from 80's new wave and jangle rock, indie rock and lo-fi punk.
